The job sheet

The job sheet is the job's Shopify draft order, edited in Workshop. Mechanics only open Shopify to take payment. Open it by clicking a job card, or … → Job sheet.

#What's on it

• Left: the items, each with quantity, price, discount and its own note.
• Right: the job's notes, usual products, product search and custom items. It fits one screen: nothing to scroll past.
• Top: the timer.
• Bottom: Save writes everything to Shopify.

#Add items

• Usual products: tap a tile to add it; tap again for another. A number on the tile shows how many are on the job.
• Add a product: search by name or SKU (several words work, like brake pad shimano). Results appear over the tiles; pick one.
• Custom item: a name and a price, then + (or Enter) for work or parts not in Shopify.

#Change an item

• Quantity: type it, or use − and +.
• Discount: a percentage off that line.
• No charge: keeps the line on the job (its labour still counts in hours) without charging for it.
• Note: what you found or did on that item. Tab or Enter jumps to the next item's note; Shift Tab goes back.
• Remove: the bin.

A fixed-amount discount set in Shopify is kept as it is.

#Notes

The small box on the right shows the start of the job's notes. Click it to open them full size, write, and press Done. The notes go on the Shopify draft (and on the order when the job is finished).

#Time the job

Press Start when you begin and Stop when you finish. The time on the job adds up every run. For a job with no labour line (internal work, a single-price job), the dashboard counts this as the job's time instead of what was booked.

#Save

Save writes the items, their notes and the job's notes to the draft order in Shopify. Close without saving and you're asked before anything is lost. The total shows "About A$… before tax" while you're editing, and Shopify's own total once saved.

#Finished and queued jobs

• Finished job: shown as it was billed, marked Paid or Waiting for pickup. Items are changed in Shopify; the notes can still be added to.
• Job still in the queue: read only until someone takes it. The notes can be added to.

#Without Shopify

With no store connected, clicking a job opens a simpler job sheet, kept in Workshop:

• Time on the job: Start and Stop, the same timer.
• Parts and labour: a name, quantity and price each per line. Add a line for more. The total shows underneath.
• Notes: what you found and what you did.
• Save keeps it all on the job.

When the job is finished, the total goes in the "ready to collect" email. Take payment however you usually do. A finished job without Shopify stays in Completed for 7 days, or Archive it sooner.

#Usual products

The tiles are the business's own list, set by the owner in Settings → Drop-off → Usual products: add products, reorder them, remove them. Pictures come from Shopify.
