Waivers
One waiver for every job, signed on the counter tablet, the customer's phone or from their booking confirmation, kept with the job. Regulars aren't asked again until it runs out.
One waiver for every job: your wording, signed with a finger, kept with the job. No paper, no scanning.
Set it up
Settings → Jobs and staff groups → Service waiver. Owner only.
- Turn on Every job needs a signed waiver.
- Title: what the customer sees at the top ("Service waiver").
- Wording: what they agree to. It's your text, not legal advice: have it checked.
- A signature covers that customer for: every job, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 2 years, or doesn't expire.
Nothing is asked of anyone until the waiver is on and has wording.
Get it signed at the counter
After you press Drop off, if this customer hasn't got a signature that still covers them, you see: "Job … is booked in. One thing left:" and the waiver.
- Sign here: hand over the tablet. They read it, check their full name and sign in the box, then Save signature.
- On their phone: they scan the QR code and sign on their own phone. The same link is in their drop-off email.
The job is already booked in: you can close the window and let them sign later from the email. The board shows the job's Waiver chip as waiting until they do, then signed.
Other ways to get it signed
- Booking confirmation: a job booked online, or on the calendar with a confirmation, has the waiver link in its email.
- From the board: a job's … → Get the waiver signed shows the same signing step, with the QR code.
A customer already covered isn't asked again.
Who has to sign again
A customer is matched by their Shopify customer, or their email. They're covered, and not asked, while:
- their last signature hasn't run out (the period set above), and
- the wording hasn't changed since they signed.
With Every job, each job needs its own signature.
Changing the wording
Changing the title or wording starts a new version. Everyone signs again on their next job; old signatures stay on file as what was agreed at the time.
What's kept
The name they typed, their signature, when they signed, and which version of the wording. Settings shows how many signatures are on file. See Privacy and data.
